Carlos is a Colombian film director currently based in Estonia. Graduated from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2010, and from the MA in Baltic Film and Arts School in 2014, Carlos has been an active member of the Estonian film community. Currently, Carlos is in the last year of his PHD at Tallinn University, where he also teaches documentary filmmaking.
His first Documentary feature ‘A Loss of Something Ever felt’ premiered in Hot docs in 2020 and received the Best Documentary film Award at the Estonian Film and Television Awards in 2021.
At the moment, Carlos is in postproduction with his second documentary feature and developing his first fiction feature film. He is interested in people, comic books, and particle physics, but mostly in how to tie it all to try and tell stories about the experience of being a human, inside and outside of the screen.
